1. REVIVAL in Los Angeles

Revival means to wake up, be renewed and be strengthened. It means a resoration of force and validity. Los Angeles' godly heritage has become dormant in many aspects. Pockets of people seek God as best they can, yet the majority of the city sleeps. We need to wake up! We need to be revived! We need to have the sleep rubbed from our eyes. We need to see that which is good and put off that which is not.

Pray that we seek God with all our hearts, minds and souls. Pray that God gives us a renewed and revived Spirit that finishes the good work that He began in us. Pray that our actions match our faith and that our actions reach into our own city and into the world to bring healing to many people.

2. PRODIGALS to Find Their Way Home

Prodigal people are recklessly extravagant. They leave wisdom behind and expend all their resources wastefully. Many in Los Angeles have become a prodigal generation. Many have left God to pursue the things of this world. Many live for themselves in selfish gratification. Many people sell themselves physically or in their hearts to make money for themselves or enhance their careers. The result is that they produce little that is good and much that is bad. And that effects the world.

Pray that these people return to God as did the Prodigal Son in the Bible. Pray that they understand that God stands with open arms to restore them in forgiveness to their rightful heritage. Pray that they turn from self-centered actions to Christ-centered actions.

3. PROTECTION For Pastors & Church Leaders

As a Christian, we all need protection from evil. For Christian leaders the attack is particularly strong. Our Christian leaders, as they become mobilized and unified, will see ever increasing harm against them, their families and the people they work with. Being harmed in Los Angeles may mean physical, spiritual or even financial damage. This is a city of extremes and the risks are costly.

Pray that our Christian leaders are protected from spiritual and physical attacks. Pray that their finances are met (even abundantly) that they may advance God's work. Pray that they are encouraged and protected from fear and depression and hopelessness. Pray that they recieve fresh wisdom and revitalization from God.

4. UNITY in the Body of Christ

Los Angeles has an amazing array of Christian and non-Christian organizations. From churches to para-church organizations to home groups to businesses to private individuals. Many are attempting to come together in prayer and worship and service. Many more remain separated from each other by fear, intimidation or lack of communication channels. Christ made us one body, not many. As He is in the Father, may we be in Him. United. Effective. One.

Pray that organizational boundaries serve as connection points to Christian and non-Christian organizations rather than obstacles. Pray that fear is replaced with love for each other. Pray that each organization and person discovers their unique role in the Body of Christ. Pray that each person and organization uses their unique role to love and serve all.

5. CONQUERING of Spiritual Strongholds

A stronghold is a place of security. There are strongholds for both Christ and Satan. In Los Angeles, many strongholds are obvious and many are hidden. Therein lies much danger. Since Los Angeles impacts the world, the strongholds here are indeed strong and massive. Satan will do much to preserve his power. In each of the strongholds listed below, Los Angeles has world-class organizations dedicated to the preservation of these areas:

• PORNOGRAPHY
• FINANCE
• IDOLATRY
• RELIGION
• FILM
• PROSTITUTION
• SEXUAL IMMORALITY

Pray that we clearly see the damage caused by each of these areas. Pray that we have God's protection from these areas. Pray that we can see clearly how to defeat these areas. Pray that we are not afraid to pray for these areas. Pray that opposing strongholds of Christ arise.

6. INTEGRITY of People in Influence

Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Los Angeles is filled with people in power. People that influence entire industries. The temptation to abuse this power is great. The results can be devasting to both individuals and entire organizations.

Pray that Christians are appointed to influential positions. Pray that these people aquire and maintain a Godly integrity in all they do and say. Pray that leaders repent and seek God.

7. FUSION Between Cultures & Generations

Identity is everything and everywhere. People proudly group together and fiercly defend their unit. Young adults are fractured into various social groups. Races defend their cultural identity at the expense of unity. People group together to rebel against authority. These groups can cause division and pain. We must see fusion between cultures and the generations to bring healing to our city.

Pray for people to identify themselves in Christ first, then to group together according to His will. Pray for healing between groups. Pray for barriers to be removed. Pray for conduits to be opened between groups.

8. EMERGENCE of Godly Youth

We have raised a generation of largely ungodly young people. We have squandered their inheritance in the Lord by not teaching them of God ways. The result is that many of our children have no moral compass to guide their paths. They do not have the courage and strength to choose the right from the wrong.

Pray that our children open their hearts to Jesus. Pray that they have godly teachers and mentors. Pray that they gather spiritual strength in Jesus. Pray that they have forgiveness for their parents and teachers.

9. DECENCY in the Media

The media is everywhere. It pervades our lives. It lives in print, TV, movies, radio and more. Its words tear down, its images invade our minds. It reaches out into the world. The power to influence is undeniable.

Pray that government and non-government regulatory agencies maintain godly standards. Pray that leaders arise in the media that stand strong in integrity and for godly programming. And pray for people to reject the pervasive ungodly programming that is already out there.

10. PURPOSE Regained as the City of Angels

The name Los Angeles means “The Angels”. Angels are God's messengers and His servants. We are the City of Angels. Yet we so often send the wrong message into the world. We send messages of violence, greed and lust. We have lost our purpose to be messengers of God's Word. And for that the entire world is impacted.

Pray that we once again become God's messengers for good and not messengers for evil.
